About Us

Dr Albert Taare, D.C (U.S.A)

slider_img3.jpgDr Alby Taare is a 1997 graduate of Life Chiropractic College West, California.

Whilst a student there he was inducted into the 1996/97 "Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges" and also received other awards related to his clinic internship.

Dr Taare has previously worked as a chiropractor in Palmerston North, and for 8 years he worked under the guidance of 1962 Palmer College graduate Dr Les Whitehead.

It was under Dr Whitehead that the "real" learning began and was refined- this included clinic procedures, x-ray analysis, and the art of helping patients get well through the use of 'Gonstead' protocol.

Gonstead is an old fashioned 'hands on' chiropractic technique that allows the practitioner to use a detailed system of analysis and specific adjustments to correct subluxations of the spine. It is accurate and, if done correctly, good results can be achieved with a minimum of fuss.

Dr Taare is committed to "doing it right" and brings a wealth of chiropractic knowledge and life experience to the Whakatane region. He continues with his post graduate studies and regularly attends seminars in order to keep current with scientific changes in New Zealand and abroad, as well as to brush up on exisiting skills.

He is a member of the New Zealand Chiropractic Association and the Gonstead Chiropractic Society (Australia).

Chanel Taare

Chanel is the clinic manager and she also does all the things that Dr Taare doesn't like to do, such as paperwork and all other important tasks necessary for running a small family business.

This means that Chanel is the foundation of this clinic and on top of being a mum and a full time secondary school teacher, she is the lady behind the scenes who keeps us running.

This leaves Dr Taare free to concentrate on just one thing- using his healing hands to help people.

Chanel is a 2001 graduate of Otago University and holds a Bachelor of Physical Education and a Diploma in Teaching (Secondary).

She is also a fully qualified Pilates instructor www.purepilatesohope.com

Rata McGoon

Rata is our awesome chiropractic assistant who is in charge of running our reception in the afternoons.

Rata will help out on your first visit to the clinic and also with managing your visit schedule and assisting in other areas at the reception. She will look after any concerns you may have, has a wealth of knowledge regarding ACC, and she is also happy to simply chat.

Rata brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to this clinic, having previously worked at the I.R.D for many years. Dont let that scare you though, she is very friendly and has a professional and easy going manner that you will find both warm and refreshing!

Gena joined us in 2014 after having moved from the Waikato. She has a wealth of prior experience working as a receptionist in a trucking business for many years. She is also a mother and has four teenage children and so is a busy lady.

Gena has a very calm and quiet demeanour, and is an honest and hard working addition to our clinic and you will find her in the morning clinic sessions Monday to Wednesday. She is here to help you with all enquiries and bookings.

Jodi is the younger sister of Gena and joined our team in 2015. She is a welcome and refreshing addition to our clinic, and you will also find her in the mornings on Thursday and Friday.

As the mother of five children (and if you include her husband that makes six!), as well as working for us, she is a busy woman. She has a wealth of experience having previously worked in the funeral industry for many years and prior to that she was farming.

Jodi is an honest, hard working and confident woman and you will be able to be helped with all enquiries and clinic related matters.

Irene Thompson

Irene has joined our clinic in 2015 after many decades of dairy farming in the Manawatu.

Also, Irene has received regular chiropractic for 37 years- first from Dr Whitehead and then Dr Taare.

She is our go to lady for when we need to call in extra staff or if she needs to cover for our staff.

You will find her cheerful and friendly disposition very welcoming and refreshing.
